The facilities will house the production of Hankook’s passenger car (PCR) and truck/bus (TBR) tire production lines. This large-scale project includes site improvement, utility installation and relocations, paving, deep foundations, concrete foundations/slabs and deep equipment pits, a multistory structural steel Mixing Building, ASRS mat foundations, IMP exterior, CMU-IMP interior walls, TPO roofing, and misc supporting architectural features.
Systems for the project include special hazard and in-rack fire suppression, domestic plumbing, HVAC, process mechanical distribution piping and equipment (cooling/chilled water, compressed air, steam, etc), industrial electrical distribution, process controls, and fire alarm systems.
Other components of the project include large additions to the existing Phase 1 plant, ancillary buildings to support the main plan, rail spur additions, and main entry canopy upgrades. This expansion underscores Hankook’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the U.S. market and enhancing its supply chain capabilities. By increasing production capacity and introducing TBR tire manufacturing domestically, Hankook aims to better serve its North American customers and meet growing demand.
