Concrete Strategies performed the tilt-up and foundations packages for this 222,573-square-foot office and warehouse.

Concrete Strategies performed the tilt-up and foundations packages for this 222,573-square-foot office and warehouse. Exactly 90 concrete tilt-up panels, totaling 90,000-square-feet, were used on this project. The tilt-up panels incorporated the use of a thin-brick system, which was cast-in-place when the panels were poured. The tallest panel was 44-feet tall and the widest panel was 31-feet wide. The warehouse features 32-foot clear-height ceilings with 24 dock doors and two drive-in doors. The thin-brick used was simulate brick from innovative brick systems. The panels were poured using a 4000 psi concrete mix and they were reinforced with rebar. To brace and support the panels, once erected, we used Dayton Superior braces and lifting hardware. We also used helical ground anchors to support the panels which could not be braced back to the concrete slab on grade.

Located on a 10.4-acre site in south St. Louis, the new structure serves as the headquarters for the commercial lighting company.

Other features include: Green glass curtain wall, structural steel frames, sandstone and slate gray concrete tilt-up panels accented with brick, and contrast between natural and synthetic materials.
