Concrete Strategies performed the flatwork for the South 40 Campus expansion on the Washington University campus.

Concrete Strategies performed the flatwork for the South 40 Campus expansion on the Washington University campus. Construction of 25,000-square-feet of exposed aggregate sidewalk, 4,500-square-feet of intricate, radius retaining walls and 800 linear feet of radius battered stairs was completed in the summer of 2009.

The construction was done in the heart of the campus with utilities all around it. Using new technologies, Concrete Strategies drove massive steel plates into the ground which enabled excavation around the existing utilities and protected them from damage and minimized disruptions of service.
